Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences team. This role builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms. You will collaborate with Product teams to scope projects, define scope to enable faster customer feedback, navigate UX tradeoffs for different product teams, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDKs. You will optimize existing functionality to ship faster loading and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms. You will ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin. Ideal candidates think in systems design, value simplicity, act quickly, stay focused in a busy remote team, and collaborate well with designers, marketers, and PMs. Preferred tech: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience OK but Kotlin Multiplatform preferred); prior experience with GCP is a plus. The position is based in Bilbao, Spain. The Spain-based salary range for this role is USD 30,000–110,000 per year plus bonus and stock depending on experience.
