About the Role iCapital’s Distributed Ledger Technology team is seeking a Senior Blockchain Backend Engineer to develop an industry-wide distributed ledger solution for the alternative investment ecosystem, enabling access to private markets investments for advisors and their high-net-worth clients through innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will understand complex business problems, scope projects, identify opportunities, optimize workflows, and communicate findings across the organization. This role is highly visible and involves close collaboration with Engineering, Product, senior leadership, and industry partners. Responsibilities - Design and implement a private, permissioned distributed ledger using DAML or Canton and other open-source blockchain frameworks. - Build and maintain a RESTful API using Python and FastAPI. - Provide technical leadership to motivate and guide team members and mentor junior engineers. - Participate in daily stand-up meetings and peer code reviews as part of the SDLC. - Stay current with blockchain developments and integrate them into the iCapital ecosystem. Qualifications - 9+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions. - 3+ years of technical leadership and management experience. - Experience with DAML, Solidity, or other blockchain programming languages. - Experience with Python and FastAPI. - Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and modeling practices. - Experience building APIs for large-scale applications using AWS.
