This role involves managing source control workflows with Git, building and maintaining CI/CD release pipelines (using Jenkins or Bamboo), and acting as technical lead for an Agile team across development, QA, staging, and production environments. Responsibilities include system administration, monitoring, instrumentation, and performance tuning of enterprise Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows systems to support resiliency and high availability. The engineer will provision and configure application infrastructure and deployments using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Software Defined Networking (SDN); configure and maintain caching and messaging middleware (Memcached, ActiveMQ, Redis); and manage database deployment infrastructure (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Elasticsearch environments (including Kibana). They will set up containerized and serverless deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (including RKE2). Apply security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, and government compliance standards (e.g., NIST, RMF, STIGs) across platforms and PaaS environments. Troubleshoot complex issues by reading code logic, analyzing architecture, isolating defects, and automating manual operational processes.
