Senior Data Scientist, Amazon’s Vertical Ads team, will drive innovation in the Ads Foundational Model (Ads-FM) by applying advanced machine learning to improve advertiser performance and the customer experience. This individual contributor role leads scientific initiatives, defines strategy for Ads-FM, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement ML-powered solutions. Responsibilities include developing and deploying machine learning models using computer vision, natural language processing, and deep learning to evaluate and enhance ad effectiveness; developing algorithms that extract meaningful signals from image, video, and audio content to predict engagement; leveraging Amazon’s data to generate actionable recommendations for more compelling ad creative; identifying high-impact opportunities and leading ideation, planning, and execution of science initiatives; collaborating with business leaders and teams to deploy ML-powered solutions; and contributing to the ML roadmap through research and innovation. Basic qualifications: 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab); 4+ years of data science experience; experience with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.
