Hercules is hiring a senior or staff-level Content Writer to work with engineers to produce technical content for our engineering blog. Responsibilities include deep diving into engineering and research to write about the hardest technical challenges we are solving: the systems we build, the decisions and tradeoffs behind them, what worked, what failed, and what we learned. You will find and develop new stories by spending time with engineers, reading internal documents, and exploring our product and codebase to uncover ideas worth publishing. You will publish frequently, as shipping is a core part of Hercules’ culture. You will help engineers publish by co-writing and editing posts with our team, turning rough notes, conversations, and technical drafts into high-quality articles supported by diagrams, code examples, and data. Examples of the depth and quality we are aiming for include Uber Engineering, Shopify Engineering, Cloudflare’s blog, and Cursor’s research blog. Required skills: exceptional technical writing with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly while preserving important details; portfolio of engineering-focused writing is required.
