Role overview: The Quality Engineer oversees quality control, raw material verification, and process quality assurance for asphalt-modified bitumen (SBS/APP) roofing and waterproofing membrane manufacturing. This role directly manages the quality laboratory team, including the Lab Supervisor and Quality Technicians, ensuring process capability (Cpk) and product conformity to internal specifications and ASTM standards through leadership, statistical process control, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis.

What you will accomplish: - Lead and develop the Lab Supervisor and Quality Technicians; manage lab staffing, shift handoffs, and priorities. - Oversee testing of raw materials (asphalt flux, polymers, mineral fillers, reinforcement mats) and finished Mod Bit roll products. - Monitor process parameters (blend viscosity, dispersion, thickness, coating weight) using Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce yield variation and scrap. - Ensure product compliance with ASTM standards, UL ratings, and building code certifications. - Lead 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone root-cause investigations and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Oversee laboratory maintenance, ca
