This is a readvertisement for the Accountant position (CO - P4364) in Richmond, Virginia. The role reconciles general ledger accounts and fund balances between DEQ's Oracle Financials and the state accounting system Cardinal, in accordance with directives from the Department of Accounts (DOA). It provides DEQ management and external customers with timely and accurate information regarding federal and state funds. The position manages business processes and financial transactions related to sponsored programs by reviewing and approving all goods and services prior to obligation. The successful candidate will ensure accurate posting to the general ledger; manage appropriations, allotments, and cash; reconcile financial information; and prepare internal and external budgets and financial reports. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, including both in-office and telework, and candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.

Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing and approving General Ledger transactions (including deposit receipts) for agency project codes and federal project codes and indirect cost rate charging; reviewing and posting ATV's, JV's and Cardinal entries; and preparing and reviewing financial reporting.
