Speechify is a fully distributed company with no physical office. We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that power Speechify’s platform, including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech, and external integrations. This remote-only role is based in Athens, Greece.

What You'll Do: - Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal APIs such as Payments, Subscriptions, Auth, and Usage Tracking, ensuring scalability and reliability. - Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability. - Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients. - Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.

What We're Looking For: - Proven experience in backend development: TypeScript/Node.js (required). - Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform; knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers. - Strong ideation and implementation skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact. - Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments. - Preferred: Kubernetes experience for high availability.
