About the role

CHECK24 is seeking a Senior Golang Engineer (m/f/d) to join the TravelTech team in Leipzig, Germany. In this role you will design, develop, and operate a highly available backend in a modern service-oriented architecture. You will focus on performance, building scalable code for large data volumes and high traffic, with fast response times and real-time processing. You will evolve the backend landscape composed of services, databases, caches, and interfaces (e.g., REST APIs). You will take ownership of complex IT projects from idea to production, continue to advance CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and ensure code quality with unit and integration tests. You will also explore AI-powered features and identify new AI use cases for our products and internal processes, bringing ideas and assessing new technologies for their value. You will document solutions and actively share knowledge with the team.

Requirements include a solid degree and at least 2 years of software development experience, very good Golang skills, good MySQL knowledge, and a DevOps mindset with experience in build/deploy processes and tools such as Git, Docker and ideally Jenkins. A keen interest in modern AI technologies (LLMs, AI-assisted development, or AI APIs) and the motivation to apply them meaningfully. High standards of code quality, analytical problem-solving skills, team spirit, and a passion for delivering modern software. German language proficiency at least C1 level.
