The role sits in the SaaS infrastructure function and collaborates with cloud engineering and product squads, applying AI-native reliability practices such as bounded automation, observability, approvals, containment, and rollback. What you'll own: - Define and own service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets across the Azure estate (and potentially multi-cloud), using error budgets to balance delivery and reliability. - Toil elimination and self-healing automation: identify toil, engineer it out, and feed improvements into the reliability roadmap; stand up an agent-based support layer for recurring toil. - Observability consolidation: standardise metrics, alerting and tracing across datacenters; close coverage gaps and reduce alert-to-incident ratio. - Incident response and blameless postmortems: lead incidents to resolution and turn learnings into durable fixes or automation candidates. - Reliability of releases: harden CI/CD and progressive delivery (canaries, safe rollouts, automated rollback) to improve velocity and reliability. - Capacity and performance: model capacity, load-test critical paths, and keep the platform within performance envelopes as it scales across regions. - AI-native reliability: bring agents and bounded automation into detection, diagnosis and remediation. - Runbooks and automation: ensure every alert links to a runb
