Devexperts is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our team in Porto, Portugal, on a hybrid work arrangement. The current project involves building one of the leading trading platforms in the United States, serving more than 200,000 online users daily across desktop, mobile, and web, and capable of processing over 1 million requests per second across a distributed infrastructure. You will own and build backend services, infrastructure, and data systems, solving scalability challenges and gaining deep expertise in U.S. financial systems while impacting products used by millions. Responsibilities include handling core trading processes: order issuance, validation, routing, execution, option price calculation, and reconciliation, with a focus on high performance, low latency, and fault tolerance. You will participate in code reviews and various testing approaches to ensure code quality. Qualifications include 3+ years of backend development, proficiency in Go or Python, solid system design knowledge, experience with Kafka or similar streaming platforms, and a track record of delivering large technical projects with cross-functional teams. English proficiency (B2+) to communicate with multicultural teams and a US customer.
