As a Software Engineer II – Android, you will contribute to the Alarm.com Android application used by millions of customers to secure and manage their homes and businesses. You will work across the full mobile stack on real-time video streaming, IoT device controls, security system management, and smart home automation, with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android media frameworks, and backend API integrations. You will collaborate with Android and iOS engineers, backend teams, QA, and product managers from requirements through deployment. Responsibilities include designing and implementing real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks (HLS/RTSP), building responsive UIs following Material Design, and applying modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, MVP). You will evaluate new Android technologies and balance quick delivery with robust solutions, and contribute ideas to product development.
