Data Engineer Genomics England is a global leader in enabling genomic medicine and research. We design, develop and operate complex healthcare software that supports the NHS national whole genome sequencing service and the National Genomic Research Library, helping researchers improve patient outcomes.

What you’ll do: - Design, build and optimise data pipelines and processing systems. Work with clinical and genomic data at scale—from acquisition through transformation, lineage, metadata capture and de-identification. Use tools such as Tableau, Semarchy, Prefect, Aspera and Globus for orchestration, visualisation and secure data transfer. Support teams with robust, well-documented data models and infrastructure. Design and build scalable data solutions in AWS using cloud-first engineering practices, applying best practices in storage, compute and orchestration. Enable standards in data quality, observability, testing and automation. Collaborate with product, QA, architecture and engineering teams to build cleanly integrated data services. Contribute to the development of machine learning and visualisation capabilities. Help raise data engineering capability across the chapter and wider organisation.
