ERGO NEXT is a technology-led, full-stack provider of small business insurance in the United States. We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to own the Agents Channel domain and work on a server-side Kotlin stack, with CI/CD delivering production-ready code several times a day. You will collaborate with product, marketing, and frontend engineers to rapidly iterate on the product, take ownership of features from inception through design and production, and leverage AI/LLM-powered tools to boost developer productivity. This role is based in Boston, MA, with a hybrid work arrangement (in-office 3 days per week). What we need: at least 6+ years of backend development experience using Java/Kotlin or similar (Python, .NET); a B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent; strong OOP knowledge; hands-on experience with highly distributed, cloud-based environments (AWS is preferred); experience with relational databases and SQL; adaptable and quick to learn new technologies; excellent communication skills.
