Staff Accountant at Brightview Senior Living is a hands-on role in Baltimore, Maryland, partnering with the accounting and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll and benefit expenses for a portfolio of communities, joint ventures, funds, and investor entities. This position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and to build strong professional relationships with internal and external customers. Key responsibilities include providing financial oversight, performing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining monthly workpaper reconciliations, reviewing expenses and posting journal entries, overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable, assisting in month-end close, preparing bank reconciliations, and compiling monthly reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders. Additional duties include preparing weekly cash requirement reports, supporting the year-end audit process, maintaining monthly work papers and GL data, preparing and presenting monthly performance summaries, analyzing complex financial data to identify trends and propose solutions, collaborating with staff to gather necessary information, participating in annual budgets and forecasts, driving process improvements, and leading or participating in special projects as needed.
