The role involves developing high-performance, safety-critical software that makes billions of operational decisions per day for thousands of Starlink satellites. You will build first-principles physics models of satellite power and thermal behavior, and optimize payload utilization within energy and thermal constraints. You will write reliable ground and vehicle software and own the full lifecycle of your code from development through testing, verification, rollout, and monitoring. You will design constellation optimization algorithms, build simulations for hardware and software trade-offs, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines. You will participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of quality. Basic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM field or 3+ years of software development experience, and proficiency in C/C++ or Rust.
