CountryPlace Mortgage, a nationwide mortgage lender headquartered in Plano, Texas, is seeking a Staff Accountant II to join our accounting team. This in-person role is based at our Plano office and offers an opportunity to develop analytical skills in a high-impact environment. The Staff Accountant II supports the accounting team to maintain books and records and to support loan origination and servicing operations. The team collaborates with external auditors and financial reporting to ensure GAAP and SEC compliance. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. Essential duties include: processing chattel loan fundings with timeliness and accuracy for the originations team, including reviewing draw sheets, setting up wire transfers, activating loans in the servicing system, and recording cash disbursement journal entries; processing mortgage closings with thorough review and balancing of draw sheets to closing disclosures, wiring funds, activating loans in the servicing system, and recording journal entries; processing mortgage construction loan draws with detailed review of draw packages for policy compliance, setting up wires, calculating and settling dealer interest reserve balances, and journal entries; preparing monthly accounting journal entries across areas such as chattel loan sales, funding disbursements, servicing remittances, receivables, accruals, and other items; managing ERP vendor setup and ensuring compliance with 1099 distribution; reconciling non-complex balance sheet accounts (accounts payable, construction draws receivable, insurance claims payable,
