About the role
Optum is seeking a National Account Executive to manage a portfolio of large, strategic customers within OptumRx pharmacy programs. The role focuses on retention, profitability, and growth of existing business, as well as the acquisition of new business on existing accounts. The position is remote anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Take lead role in pharmacy relationship and strategy development for existing OptumRx clients to achieve retention, profitability, and satisfaction objectives
- Define customer needs to differentiate offerings and position for retention and growth
- Understand the competitive landscape and position pharmacy management programs; act as account management lead for pharmacy in meetings with clients, brokers, and consultants
- Organize internal resources to support pharmacy growth and retention for existing clients
- Channel client needs and expectations into the larger organization's priorities, initiatives, and services
- Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation, and profitability
- Coordinate to ensure high-quality client service delivery by maintaining intercompany relationships
- Support overall client success and growth with cross-functional collaboration
- 5+ years of client-facing management experience in the PBM/healthcare/pharmacy industry or related consulting
- 5+ years of experience working with large employers and/or health plans
- 5+ years of business development or account management experience, preferably National Accounts
