AI Engineer II (Remote) — Modena, Italy. Sezzle is seeking a talented AI Engineer II to own end-to-end AI-powered platforms and features on the Applied AI team. In this role you will design, develop, and deploy AI-powered systems from ground up, implement intelligent automation and orchestration, and embed AI capabilities into customer-facing products, internal tools, and operational workflows. You will build full-stack systems spanning backend services, APIs, data layers, and frontend interfaces; translate ambiguous problems into scalable, maintainable AI solutions; ensure reliability, security, permissions, and auditability; and collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams. You’ll also participate in production support and mentor AI team members to raise the quality bar. What we look for: 3–5 years of professional experience in software/AI/ platform engineering; hands-on experience shipping AI-powered systems; strong Python, SQL, and frontend skills (React); experience with distributed systems and LLM tools (Claude or equivalents).
