Position: Assistant Deli Team Lead – Baseline & Val Vista (Mesa, AZ) – On-site
AJ's Fine Foods is seeking an Assistant Deli Team Lead in training to help lead the deli/bistro team, achieve department goals, and deliver high-quality deli and bistro products to customers. This on-site role covers Baseline & Val Vista locations in Mesa, AZ.
Responsibilities
Physical demands: Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and other tasks as needed. Perks & Benefits:
- In the absence of the Deli Team Leader, supervise department personnel, coordinate with the store director and deli/bistro supervisors, and ensure products are stocked and merchandised to company standards.
- Oversee the preparation, service, and merchandising of deli/bistro items, including breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, fried chicken and other fried items, roasted items, pizzas, prepared salads, sandwiches, and other hot and cold items for display in hot cases, salad cases, and steam tables.
- Display and rotate deli/bistro merchandise following department and company guidelines; maintain quality, safety, and shrink control.
- Monitor product pricing, signage, and placement, including shelf tags and signage.
- Maintain clean, neat, and orderly counters, prep areas, storage, and display cases; operate safely around slicers, ovens, and burners.
- Take customer orders, ensure orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Comply with all county, city and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
