This hybrid role in the Quality department focuses on ensuring that vehicle low-voltage and high-voltage electrical distribution systems meet rigorous design requirements, engineering specifications, and customer expectations from concept through production. The role is highly collaborative, working with Design & Release engineers, Vehicle Program Management, and global suppliers to drive product excellence using Ford’s processes and quality tools.
Key responsibilities: - Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities for upcoming Ford and Lincoln vehicle models to proactively identify and mitigate risks. - Collaborate on risk analysis with Design & Release engineers and Vehicle Program Management on Change Point Analysis and Risk Analysis to implement robust FMA work plans. - Deliver quality milestones by guiding Design & Release engineers to ensure GPDS quality deliverables are completed on time. - Drive root-cause analysis and establish permanent Prevent Recurrence Actions (PRA) for quality issues identified before, during, and after vehicle launch, utilizing structured problem solving (with emphasis on the 3-Legged 5-Why approach). - Develop foundational quality documents, including Quality History, Boundary Diagrams, Interface Matrices, P-Diagrams, DFMEA/PFMEA, Special Characteristics, and Control Plans. - Optimize process controls with engineering and supplier partners to prevent and detect failures early.
