About the role
Emerson is seeking a Software Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team focused on PACSystems technology. This role concentrates on client-side software used by engineers and operators to configure, program, visualize, and manage PACSystems controllers and automation solutions. You will contribute to designing and developing next-generation PACSystems software, embracing modern development practices including AI-assisted and spec-driven development to accelerate delivery and improve quality. The team emphasizes technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous learning in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Who you are:
- Collaborate within a creative team, participate in code reviews, and engage in Agile activities such as sprint planning and retrospectives; participate in Hackathons, Tech Talks, and Communities of Practice.
- Learn from domain experts in industrial automation to translate real-world requirements into software.
- Contribute to specifications, supporting authoring and review of structured software specifications and AI-assisted workflows.
- Innovate by writing software with modern tools and techniques, applying spec-driven methodologies to reduce ambiguity and improve delivery.
- Automate by writing unit tests and contributing to system-level testing to support a healthy automation pipeline.
- Iterate through retrospectives and propose process improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and AI development tooling; apply new skills to real problems.
- Be team-oriented, seek feedback, and pursue continuous improvement.
