Speechify is seeking a Senior Windows Desktop Applications Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML (and C++ where needed). You will define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase, including architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability. You will drive accessibility efforts, ensuring UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and inclusive usability. You will collaborate closely with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning and the long-term roadmap for the Windows platform. You will own the full lifecycle of features from conception through design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance, ensuring quality and reliability. You will diagnose and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, or compatibility problems, and propose robust architectural or design solutions. Ideal candidate has 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI/C#, XAML; deep understanding of interop between managed and native code; track record of shipping production-quality desktop apps with emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability, and accessibility; strong experience with accessibility APIs (Microsoft UI Automation); excellent software engineering fundamentals; experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews
