Alpaca, a US-headquartered global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build the next generation of our Data Platform as we scale to larger customers and new jurisdictions. The role covers data related to financial transactions, customer data, API logs, system metrics, augmented data, and third-party systems that impact decision-making for internal and external stakeholders. We process hundreds of millions of events daily and continue to grow as we onboard new customers and products. We prioritize open-source technologies in our data stack and rely on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as the foundation of our data infrastructure, spanning batch and streaming ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers for BI/Reporting, AI interfaces, and external sinks. We also manage data experimentation, cataloging, and monitoring/alerting. Our team is fully distributed and remote.
