Payroll and HR Generalist Organization: Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Job Summary: The Payroll and HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support within the Operations Team, managing payroll, benefits administration, HRIS, compliance reporting, and employee inquiries. This on-site, in-person role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to balance administrative tasks with HR initiatives.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Process monthly and semi-monthly payroll, including data compilation, paycheck preparation, and deductions
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries
- Manage benefits enrollment and processing (health, dental, vision, life, disability, parental leave, and EAP)
- Maintain compliance and reporting for federal, state, EEOC, FMLA, unemployment, 403(b) plan, census, and trust reports
- Handle unemployment claims
- Set up HR systems to manage hiring, orientation, continued employment, evaluation, and termination
- Collaborate with providers, COBRA, unemployment, and 403(b) plan administration
- Participate in the hiring process as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to manage multiple HR functions with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in HR software, reporting systems, and tools
- Experience managing payroll and payroll processes
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and communication skills
- This position requires in-person work
