Take Profit Trader is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design and operate scalable, real-time backend systems for a trading risk-focused platform. This leadership role will institutionalize the firm’s risk function, expand into live trading risk ownership, and build a growing engineering team while delivering high-availability services for traders. The position involves solving complex distributed systems challenges, building scalable backend infrastructure, and guiding technical direction across the engineering organization. Key responsibilities include designing and building a real-time notification platform, deploying and operating Kafka/MSK streaming pipelines, creating scalable event-driven architectures with durable messaging and replay capabilities, developing stateful stream processing applications for risk detection and fraud monitoring, designing and optimizing PostgreSQL and time-series databases, building production-grade .NET Core APIs, and establishing reliability, monitoring, and observability standards. The role reports to engineering leadership and includes mentoring senior engineers and shaping long-term platform strategy. Location: Fully Remote in the United States.
