Joby Aviation is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to perform systems-level verification testing for our VTOL electric aircraft. The role will split time between our Systems Test facilities in Santa Cruz, CA and Marina, CA, supporting FAA certification by providing data-driven insights to hardware and software design improvements. Responsibilities include planning, writing, and executing system-level tests in integrated test labs, acting as Pilot-in-the-Loop and Test Director, training others, developing and maintaining test procedures and calibration records, and driving root cause corrective actions with cross-functional teams. The candidate should have a B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years of relevant experience, experience running system-level tests in a lab environment, instrumentation/data acquisition experience, and experience with HIL tests. Desired qualifications include experience with high-voltage power electronics, LabVIEW and Veristand, industrial test laboratory procedures and safety, Polarion requirements and test case documentation, and knowledge of aircraft certification processes (ARP 4754, DO-178). Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and RSUs. The target base pay for this position is $104,000 - $183,000/yr. Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
