The role maintains working relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality of purchased components and materials with a focus on continuous improvement. Responsibilities include initiating and leading supplier performance improvements for NPDI, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and mass production; monitoring and addressing supplier nonconformance with robust quality control plans and effective corrective actions; driving permanent resolution of supplier issues; leading PPAP requirements for changes; leading root cause analysis and supplier corrective actions (SCAR); developing root cause analyses and supplier reports; coordinating with internal teams to resolve quality issues; preparing concise executive summaries for leadership; performing supplier on-site audits to monitor QMS compliance and effectiveness; identifying areas for quality improvements; visiting suppliers to observe installations and document improvement needs; evaluating potential new suppliers via on-site audits and scoring of QMS; providing monthly updates on supplier performance and quality initiatives.
