Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Pixel Audio Systems team. This role focuses on architecting audio platforms, implementing critical components, and designing sub-systems to support device launches.
Based in Mountain View, California, you will lead the overall development of the audio platform, collaborating with OS-level engineers to enable next-generation experiences and partnering with SoC vendors to implement the hardware abstraction layer (HAL), enable debugging, and drive root-cause analysis.
As an Audio Systems Lead, you will bring up audio systems on new devices from prototype to production hardware, deliver audio HAL implementations that allow the high-level OS to run reliably on SoC platforms, and ensure traceability and debugging capabilities across audio systems. You will decompose system designs into modular components for team delivery, define key system components and architectures to meet program milestones, and interface with higher-level OS teams to ensure commitments are met on schedule.
About the Platforms and Devices team: this group covers Google's computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, and applications, as well as our first-party devices and services, combining Google AI, software, and hardware.
Compensation: US: $207,000 - $300,000 (USD) plus 20% target bonus, equity, and benefits.
