PhaseWell Research is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. This position is based at PhaseWell’s corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.

PhaseWell launched its platform by acquiring multiple clinical research sites and is building a unified, high-performing clinical trial site network. The company is backed by Shore Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, and competes in the growing contract research organization and healthcare services sector.

Key Responsibilities - General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, assist with month-end close, and support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports. - Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage client invoicing, track billable activities, monitor aging reports, and resolve invoice discrepancies. - Financial Analysis & Reporting: Perform financial analysis of revenue streams, expenses and margins; assist with forecasting, budgeting, and KPI development; support external audits and tax return preparation. - Integration, Process Improvements & Other Activities: promote strong internal controls, explore process automation and AI tools, oversee billing system transitions, standardize processes across locations, and support M&A integration.
