Staff Accountant is sought by Sangre de Cristo Community Care to join the Fiscal Services team in Pueblo, Colorado. This fully on-site position supports nonprofit hospice, home health, palliative care, and private-duty programs by ensuring accurate and organized financial operations. The successful candidate will manage the full accounts payable process, review and reconcile credit-card activity, handle cash receipts, and complete monthly donation reconciliations. They will assist with the monthly close, including journal entries and adjustments, maintain audit-ready records, and support audits and Form 990 preparation, budgeting, and special projects. Additional duties include revenue-cycle support, responding to leaders’ questions about accounts payable and expenses, and developing procedures and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency. Requirements include an associate degree in accounting (bachelor’s preferred), 2–5 years of accounting experience (healthcare or nonprofit experience a plus), knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting, strong Excel and MS Office skills, discretion with confidential information, and a valid Colorado driver’s license with automobile insurance. This is an on-site role based in Pueblo, Colorado, United States; remote or hybrid work is not available.
