Staff Accountant supports daily financial operations in a hospitality environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting processes. The role oversees accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting while assisting with tax filings and system maintenance. The position also supports internal controls, prepares financial statements, and ensures proper allocation of expenses. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Controller and Assistant General Manager in a dynamic hospitality environment. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the Accounts Payable Clerk and General Cashier (hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions), reviewing daily cash and credit card transactions, verifying internal house accounts, maintaining and updating the Property Management and Point of Sale systems, assisting with month-end journal entries and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, supporting monthly financial statements, resolving disputed credit card charges, handling sales and occupancy tax filings, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Controller or Assistant General Manager.
