Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a Software Engineer II, Data Platform, to design, build, document, and deploy large-scale data platforms that power PlayStation experiences. This hybrid role (Aliso Viejo, California based with weekly onsite work in San Diego) requires collaborating with engineers and product teams across time zones to deliver data-driven features and insights. Responsibilities include contributing to development, testing, and deployment of high-quality code; collaborating with global teams; supporting data cataloging, analytics, and ETL/ELT pipelines; identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements with guidance from senior engineers; building and supporting services handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (audio, video, text, images); participating in on-call rotation for production support; maintaining platform documentation; presenting work in team demos; following best practices in testing, monitoring, and deployment to ensure reliability; and continuously learning new tools and technologies in the data platform space.
