Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer for Counter Measures Systems to join the NASA-focused team supporting Johnson Space Center in Houston, United States. The role involves developing software components for existing exercise equipment and new hardware such as heart rate monitors used on future spacecraft missions, with the aim of maintaining crew health in reduced gravity environments. The engineer will adapt software and firmware for robotic devices, develop Graphical User Interfaces, and generate software for health countermeasure scenarios, including sensorimotor training tools, modeling and simulation, and data integration. Responsibilities include system integration and testing, reviewing designs and artifacts for completeness, and coordinating verification activities. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; strong proficiency in C/C++, Linux, GUI development, and scripting; experience with Python (including pandas and numpy), SQL databases (InfluxDB3, PostgreSQL), and hardware communication with sensors and actuators. Familiarity with Dart/Flutter and JavaScript is a plus. You will work within an Integrated Product Team, follow NASA standards, and be willing to work onsite at Johnson Space Center. Qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to prioritize tasks, and willingness to learn new technologies.
