You will work closely with a skilled team to deliver high-quality software solutions and stay current with the latest developments in the field. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented, with a passion for building innovative software. Responsibilities include developing Java applications using modern frameworks (e.g., Spring, Guava), designing enterprise APIs and RESTful services, and contributing to microservices architectures. You will participate in agile software delivery, ensure code quality through testing, and collaborate with teammates across multi-repository projects. Experience with AI agent-based workflows and autonomous feature delivery is preferred. The role requires the ability to guide AI agents, review agent-generated code for security and performance, and operate in a fast-paced, small business environment. Minimum qualifications include 5+ years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks, a related degree (or equivalent experience), strong OOP, Linux, and configuration management skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance not required on day one). The position is hybrid, with an expectation to spend an average of 1-2 days per week in our Columbia, MD office. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS (and Azure), Kubernetes, NoSQL and full-text search technologies
