RGNext is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team for an on-site assignment at Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. The role supports software engineering efforts on existing Reagan Test Range (RTR) software products and space surveillance software in support of the Department of Defense. You will coordinate with Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, Configuration Management, and Test Operations to ensure successful integration, verification, and validation of new software releases. Responsibilities include maintaining existing software projects, preventing code rot, upgrading systems, and resolving critical software bugs; producing static code analysis reports and remediating cybersecurity vulnerabilities as needed; supporting Reagan Test Range missions and RTR technical projects; providing input to internal software Issue Review Boards (IRBs); and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field; must have and maintain or be able to obtain prior to start DoD 8140.01 / DoD 8570.01 baseline certification for IAT Level II such as Security+, CySA+, or GICSP; must have and maintain or be able to obtain within 3 months a CE Linux+ or equivalent baseline certification; proficiency with object oriented programming; familiarity with Linux/Unix-based operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred); proficiency with Git based version control; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently; strong analytical and problem solving skills
