Heartline Staffing is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant for a full-time, hybrid position in Waverly, Iowa. This role offers challenging federal and state tax work within a public accounting environment, with opportunities for long-term career growth and potential ownership for high-performing professionals.
Role: Lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and partnerships. Ensure filings comply with current IRS and Iowa state tax laws. Stay current on changing tax legislation and provide proactive guidance to clients. Serve as a trusted advisor, developing financial solutions based on clients' personal and business circumstances. Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues. Support client retention and the development of new financial solutions. Provide guidance and technical review to junior accounting staff as needed.
5+ years of progressive public accounting experience; experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation; proficiency with standard tax software such as UltraTax, CCH, or similar; ability to work in the Waverly, IA office at least 3 days per week; resident of the area or willingness to commute to Waverly. Preferred: CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA); desire to pursue firm ownership; familiarity with the financial needs of businesses and individuals along the US-20 corridor.
