Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Native Mobile to join the App Infra team within the Consumer & Business group. The team is delivering a greenfield rewrite of Coinbase's retail mobile app from React Native to native Swift and Kotlin, using AI-assisted code generation to deliver a dramatically faster, higher-quality experience for millions of customers. You will bring deep iOS or Android expertise to build core app surfaces, contribute to the design of Coinbase’s native mobile agentic workflow, and help lay the foundation of Coinbase’s future mobile platform as product teams onboard to the native codebase.

Responsibilities include owning the development of core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin, translating existing React Native flows into native implementations that meet performance budgets, and setting the project-wide quality bar through code and design reviews. You will accelerate other frontend engineers by defining architectural patterns, improving build speeds, and refining development workflows. You will partner with product teams during onboarding to review native PRs, challenge suboptimal patterns, and address slow paths such as flaky tests, painful deploys, or handoffs between native and React Native codebases. You will drive performance optimization across device tiers, champion dual-app parity during the transition, and address technical debt that matters.
