About the role
Versa Networks is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Machine Learning team. In this role you will contribute to a range of data-driven projects, from exploratory data analysis to building and deploying machine learning models for networking, security, and language use-cases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover insights and drive data-informed decisions.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand data characteristics and identify patterns; use data visualization to communicate insights.
- Data Preparation and Engineering: Ingest, clean, preprocess, and transform data; handle missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies; label datasets for classification problems.
- Machine Learning: Build, train, and evaluate models including CNNs, XGBoost, Transformers, Graph ML, Time Series modelling, and LLMs.
- Model Deployment: Collaborate with engineering to deploy models to production; experience with model quantization and deployment formats like ONNX and GGUF.
- Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and domain experts to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
- Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in data science or related field.
- Proficiency in Python; experience with Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques; experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with NLP and large language models is a plus.
