This contract role focuses on the monthly close, general ledger maintenance, and compensation-related accounting activities, working closely with the Controller to strengthen controls and scalability. The position is based in our Boulder, Colorado office with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Responsibilities: • Own designated areas of the monthly close to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. • Maintain General Ledger activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries, conducting account analysis, and ensuring proper documentation. • Serve as a key stakeholder for compensation-related accounting, including analysis, reporting, and cross-functional coordination. • Prepare, review, and maintain account reconciliations; resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity. • Identify opportunities to improve month-end close processes and implement scalable solutions. • Develop and refine controls to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness. • Support accounting projects with Finance and other teams, assist with FP&A planning, and align with evolving business initiatives. • Collaborate with auditors to ensure timely annual audits. • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including billing, collections, customer setups, invoicing, payment applications, and vendor setups. • Review AP and publisher payment runs and prepare bank wires or t
