Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Strategic Communication Software Engineering Department in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This onsite role involves leading cross-disciplinary agile teams and owning the full software lifecycle from architecture and design through integration, testing, and field support. Candidates should have extensive software engineering experience, including leadership of a small engineering team, and strong C++ expertise with real-time operating systems and embedded programming. Knowledge of Linux or other RTOS, and the ability to communicate across engineering disciplines, program management, and external stakeholders are essential. An active and transferable U.S. government DoD Secret clearance is required, along with U.S. citizenship. Typically a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years, is expected. Preferred qualifications include UML/OOAD, SysML, Agile methodologies (Scrum, CI, TDD), DevOps with Jenkins, containerized microservices, FPGA interfaces, Versal ARM assembly, performance optimization, and scripting (Python).
