French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager for our Wall Township, New Jersey office to lead mechanical engineering projects with a focus on HVAC design across a variety of building types. Responsibilities include directing the design, coordination, and execution of HVAC systems; ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements; and managing timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on time and within scope. The role requires technical HVAC expertise (load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, ductwork, piping, controls, and energy efficiency solutions), preparation of design documentation, and collaboration with clients to understand needs and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. You will coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines to integrate HVAC designs and conduct site visits to monitor progress and installations. The position also involves mentoring junior engineers, overseeing cost estimates and proposals, and applying sustainable design practices. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 10 years of HVAC design experience in a consulting environment, and a NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license (LEED or similar credentials are a plus). Proficiency with HVAC design software such as Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, EnergyPlus, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Project is required; BIM experience is a plus.
