MAXISIQ is seeking a highly skilled Junior Security Engineer to support RMF and Intelligence Community Directive 503, applying strong security engineering principles and hands-on expertise. The role requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls and CNSSI 1253, with emphasis on system hardening, automation, and vulnerability remediation. You will provide security engineering and architecture to RMF, including specification, design, development, deployment, and modification of information system components. The successful candidate will select, tailor, and implement NIST SP 800-53 controls for RMF A&A and actively engineer solutions to remediate vulnerabilities and improve security posture. This is a hybrid role with possible locations in San Antonio, Augusta, and the Fort Meade area. Key responsibilities: Develop layered protections and cybersecurity SOPs for authorization boundaries. Perform vulnerability management and remediation across Windows, Linux/Unix, and container environments. Engineer, automate, and deploy security remediation configurations using Ansible and Python/Bash scripting.
