Turner & Townsend, a global professional services firm, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing-focused design on major infrastructure projects in the UK. Based in Sheffield, you will join the Yorkshire team during a period of growth and work on designs that are buildable, compliant, innovative and efficient. You will lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from early concepts through delivery, manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and partner companies, and collaborate with clients, project managers, contractors and consultants on scope changes, risks and other issues. Responsibilities include managing the contract with external design consultants, evaluating designs, and ensuring performance against project requirements. The role requires at least five years of design and management experience, knowledge of Buildings fit-out, Defence, and machine integration, and experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across multiple sectors and procurement routes. A strong understanding of integrated design delivery, BIM and common data environments, and proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD or Revit) are essential. A degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering is expected, along with excellent communication, self-motivation and a results-oriented mindset. People management, time management, and project design management capabilities are required.
