The Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) program—formerly known as Food Stamps—helps low-income households access nutritious food. Our mission is to end hunger, improve nutrition, and strengthen community health. This position is based at the Swinburne Raleigh office in Raleigh, NC, with occasional travel to regional offices.
As the Eligibility Team Lead, you will guide staff, review cases, and ensure high‑quality service delivery to residents who rely on us. You will answer staff policy questions, deliver mini-trainings, mentor trainees, monitor progress, maintain vacant caseloads, conduct quality reviews of staff casework, assign work, and respond to inquiries from the public and facility personnel. This role supports departmental emergency preparedness duties as needed.
Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Human Services or a related field and two years of relevant experience (equivalent education and experience accepted). Experience determining eligibility for FNS and related programs (e.g., Medicaid, Work First, Child Care Subsidy) is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, NC FAST, and Hyland OnBase is expected. Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
