Deli Team Lead - Mount Vernon, WA (On-site)
The Deli Team Lead (DTL) is a key leadership role within the Co-op Deli. The DTL leads by example, oversees deli operations, and ensures high-quality customer service. Responsibilities include supervising front-line staff during designated times, providing training and cross-training, documenting issues for the Deli Manager, enforcing safe work habits, and serving as a liaison to the Deli Manager with objective information regarding performance, issues, and staffing. The DTL also assists with orders and manages day-to-day staffing adjustments, including sending staff home during slow times and calling in extra staff during busy times, while following call-in procedures.

Qualifications and Skills • Previous leadership experience is desired; background in cashiering or retail grocery/deli is preferred • Ability to provide excellent, professional customer service with a friendly, outgoing demeanor • Ability to handle multiple demands, stay calm, think quickly, prioritize, and problem-solve within guidelines • Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to work well in a cooperative environment • Ability to handle transactions accurately; basic math skills • Regular, predictable attendance; flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends • Current food handler card; must be at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent
