Overview: The United Football League (UFL) is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data & Business Intelligence team as the first dedicated engineering hire. You will establish in-house engineering practices and ensure reliable data delivery as the league grows.

You will own and evolve the data platform built on Fivetran, dbt, and BigQuery, supporting Sales, Sponsorships, Marketing, and Football Operations. You will establish in-house engineering practices and ensure reliable data delivery as the league grows.
What you will do: - Take ownership of the existing data platform; review, document, and improve pipelines and the data warehouse (Fivetran, dbt, BigQuery, Cloud Run). - Operate and maintain core data flows; monitor ETL/ELT and reverse-ETL pipelines from source systems (ticketing, digital media, CRM, sales intelligence) into BigQuery and back to operational tools. - Troubleshoot ingestion, transformation, and delivery issues, including during peak periods. - Evaluate architecture, identify gaps, and implement improvements for reliability, cost, and performance. - Own data migrations, including mapping, movement, and validation for source-system changes (CRM migration upcoming). - Extend trusted datasets; maintain dbt models in BigQuery serving as single source of truth for analytics and CRM. - Safeguard data quality through validation, deduplication, and data classification. - Partner with Sales, Sponsorships, Marketing, Finance and Football Operations to translate needs into reliable data solutions. - Establish in-house data engineering standards: documentation, version control, testing practices, and governance as the team scales. - Collaborate within the te
