Avenga is seeking a Data Engineer specialized in Databricks to join our Bratislava team to help develop scalable data solutions. The role focuses on building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, data processing workflows, and modern cloud-based data platforms. Location is Bratislava, Slovakia with a hybrid work arrangement. You will design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks, build and optimize data processing solutions in an Azure environment, and collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions. You will develop and optimize data transformations using PySpark, work with Azure Data Factory and Jupyter Notebooks where applicable, ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines, troubleshoot data issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices. Requirements: 3+ years as a Data Engineer; strong experience with Databricks, preferably Azure Databricks; hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline development; good knowledge of Python and SQL; PySpark; Azure Data Factory (ADF) is an advantage; experience with Jupyter Notebooks is a plus; ability to communicate directly with clients and gather technical requirements; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; native-level proficiency in Czech or Slovak, with strong English.
