WorldQuant is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain core components of a high-performance distributed data platform. The platform combines storage, compute, and service layers to process massive, structured time-series datasets, built in C++ with a distributed architecture, real-time streaming, RPC-based data transfer, and columnar on-disk storage. Responsibilities include designing storage engines, query and compute execution, RPC/networking layers, and distributed coordination (routing, partitioning, replication); collaborating with researchers and engineers to translate data-access and performance requirements into concrete design and implementation work; investigating and resolving production issues, and participating in code reviews, system design, feature development, and productionization. Requirements include a degree in Computer Science or related field, 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and systems thinking, proficiency in modern C++ (C++11+), STL, UNIX/Linux development, and experience with AI-assisted coding tools.
