Enode is seeking a Backend Engineer to strengthen the reliability, observability, and scalability of our Platform Connect API, which aggregates integrations with EV chargers, vehicles, and OEM platforms into a single, reliable product for our customers. This mid-level role focuses on the connectivity layer, not infrastructure or DevOps, and involves building new integrations and improving existing ones.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain API integrations with OEMs and energy partners, ensuring reliability, performance, and thorough testing.
Improve the connectivity platform by reducing incidents, enhancing observability, and strengthening foundations for a resilient API as we scale to more OEMs and partners.
Develop automations and internal tools to streamline monitoring, triage, and testing of integrations.
Contribute to defining SLAs, monitoring, and alerting practices to improve reliability and reduce manual work.
Collaborate with product to align platform priorities with business needs, balancing stability and delivery.
Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture and work with engineers across Enode.

Requirements

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (or willingness to learn TypeScript) and experience with distributed systems.
Interest in platform engineering in the product sense; building the connectivity layer powering integrations.
Experience writing maintainable, testable backend code in API/integration-heavy environments.
Strong debugging skills and the ability to improve tools and processes to prevent recurring issues.
